3. Windows operating system is only for single user, but Linux OS supports multi user.

4. Linux is more secure than Windows. Because there is an opportunity for virus to attack.

5. Windows OS is widely used in personal computers. However, developers, programmers, coders and government organizations use Linux.

6. Due to the need for coding, it becomes difficult for a common person to use Linux. But in the case of Windows, coding is not required.

7. Windows has separate drives to accommodate lots of folders. But no drive is shown in Linux.

1. Open Source – Linux source code is freely available. It is a community based development project. Working with multiple teams enhances the capabilities of the Linux operating system.

2. Portable – Portable means a special type of software through which all types of hardware can work equally.

3. Multiprogramming – Linux is a multiprogramming system where multiple applications can run together.

4. Security – Linux provides very good security to its users. For example, providing password protection, encryption of data in certain files.

5. Shell – Linux has a special interpreter program, through which the commands of the operating system can be executed. Through it, various types of operations are possible. For example, functions that can be called from application programs.

6. Multi User – Linux is a multi user system which means different systems like memory, RAM, application programs.

ROMs can be accessed simultaneously by multiple users.

7. Hierarchical File System – Linux provides a standard file structure where system files / user files can be organized very easily.
